What information is collected?

Our household audit collects the following information. It is used to provide a detailed report including recommendations and changes required to improve your energy efficiency and save money.

  • Your concerns about the house in relation to its comfort and energy efficiency
  • Number and age of residents
  • A floor plan (if available)
  • House orientation
  • House size (best approximation in m2 or squares)
  • Significant exterior features
  • Energy Efficiency Rating (EER) of your house (if it has one)
  • Building type
  • Heating and cooling used
  • Shower flow rate, shower times and frequency
  • Energy use behaviour (showers, washing etc)
  • Fridges and other major appliances
  • Standby power of appliances
  • Lighting
  • Insulation

What do I get?

Upon completion, you will receive a detailed report that contains:

  • Simple instructions that will make it easy for you to implement the energy saving tips.
  • A clear path you can follow with a list of recommendations, in order of priority, of potential short and long term impacts.
  • Handy hints on how you and your family can lower your environmental impact.
  • An assessment of your carbon footprint and the options available to offset this and become carbon neutral.
How much will I save?

 

A typical family home in Australia can expect to save up to 33% by becoming more energy efficient. If you spend more than $1000 each year on energy, gas and water, a GCX Home Energy Assessment+ can save you up to $200 in your first year - even after paying for the audit.
